JOÃO MANOEL FELICIANO
Born in Recife, Pernambuco.
Lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
He holds a master’s degree in Art Therapy from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2015). He was graduated with a degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in 2002.

Certain themes are recurring in his art, such as his use of hair in works such as Apollo and Daphne, 2014, or Barca Capillus, in which hair, identified in Latin (capillus),is a medium for discussing post-colonial and post-slavery identities, mindful of the impact this organic matter has in moments of cultural contact between people of different groups or societies. João Manoel Feliciano (Recife )
Graduado em educação artística pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco.
Mestrado em arte terapia pela Universidad Complutense de Madrid/ Espanha.
O diversificado corpo de trabalho de Feliciano varia de mídias tradicionais como desenho, pintura, até vídeos e fotografia ou arte de «ação» baseada no tempo. As performances e vídeos são geralmente de longa duração, funcionam como um ritual e frequentemente circulam em torno de seu cabelo como tema. Conceitualmente, Feliciano sugere que o cabelo exerce um efeito inegável (tanto no artista quanto no público) e assume temas psicológicos, sociais, raciais e políticos.
